So far into the 2026 golf season, I’ve managed to check off quite a few boxes of my goals that I laid out in my Winter Update and Roadmap. I met with a physical therapist who has expertise in neurological conditions and he set me up with a few exercises, mainly focusing on improving my balance.
I found a new coach to work with through the Skillest app who is also a level 2 TPI certified golf and fitness professional. We’ve made some progress on my golf game already, and he’s set me up with some new exercise programs for my problem areas (core strength, hips and shoulders).
We’ve been working on removing unnecessary movements from my golf swing. Not only is this going to help to give me a more consistent and repeatable swing, but getting rid of my wild and crazy movements is going to be a lot easier on my body and hopefully reduce the chance of further injuries as well.
We’re just over a month into my training plan, and I’m seeing some great results. My lower body has become much more stable, and the ball striking has been so much better. The biggest difference I’ve noticed is that I am actually seeing negative attack angles for my irons and the sound of the strikes is just so much better.
So far, I have managed to drop my index by 0.5 since the start of the season. On top of that, I have even had a few comments from at least 3 other members of my course that it looks like I’m hitting the ball much better. So, all in all, it’s been a pretty good start.

Here we see the most recent image on the left with a much more sturdy swing. My lead knee is no longer collapsing inward as it did before. I’ve greatly reduced the reverse pivot and have become much better at keeping myself over the ball, rather than leaning towards the target.
While I still revert to bad old habits, I do think that I have been getting better at correcting that more quickly. I keep a few notes to remind myself of what I need to be focusing on in my phone, but my ADHD definitely makes me take a lot longer to remember to check that than it really should.
Once we created that more stable base for my swing, we started working on keeping my hands ahead of my body and not letting them travel back so far. Doing this has really helped with my wedge shots, which have been a bit of a struggle over the past few years. But, again, just gotta get that feel grooved in and feeling natural.
Unfortunately, I damaged a nerve in my right arm this week so I’ll have to take a bit of a break and let that bounce back before I get back out there. But after that, we’re working on cleaning up a thing or two on the downswing, as well as some work on my putting. But with the absolute mess that the putting is right now, it’s probably best to leave that for another time. Until then, we’ll keep grinding and work on Droppin’ Strokes.
